Esperanza V-Neck Dress

Each Casa Nushki piece is made slowly and in very small quantities. The fabrics are carefully sourced deadstock linens and cottons, then cut and sewn in a small women-run studio in Mexico City before being hand embroidered, crocheted, dyed or finished by artisans in Oaxaca.

Many of these details take days or weeks to complete by hand. The price reflects the time, skill, materials and relationships behind each garment - from the women who sew the pieces to the artisans who dye, embroider and finish them.

We produce in tiny runs, often making only one, three or five of each design. Every piece carries human time, physical memory and the knowledge of the women who made it.

Embroidery

The Esperanza V-Neck is a billowing dream - romantic, easy yet elevated, and made to flow. Crafted from airy dobby weave cotton and brought to life with hand embroidery and handmade deshilado lace, she features a soft V neckline with a tie detail, dropped shoulders and a long, flowing skirt trimmed with flowers drawn and embroidered by hand.

Her silhouette can be gently cinched at the waist with the tie, or worn looser for a more effortless feel. Finished with pockets and made in one size, she is the kind of dress you’ll want to throw on every day: ethereal, free and understatedly glamorous.

The embroidery on this piece was created in collaboration with artisans from Ocotlán de Morelos and San Antonino Castillo Velasco, communities renowned for their extraordinary embroidery traditions. Many of the floral motifs draw inspiration from the wildflowers of the Sierra Norte and form part of a visual language that has been passed down through generations of women. Rather than reproducing a design created elsewhere, Casa Nushki works directly with artisans whose knowledge, colour palettes and embroidery traditions shape each garment. The placement, colours and details are developed through conversation and collaboration, allowing every piece to carry the recognisable hand of the woman who made it. Their work is paid for according to the time, skill and care involved, and valued not simply as labour, but as artistry.
